The Pheasantry
The CHAP team have been working on the restoration of the Pheasantry and the installation of a new toilet block. This work may take a number of weeks and we apologise for any inconvenience but would ask visitors to make use of the toilets within the NTS stable block, near the car park.
The metal supports for the new cascade bridge have just gone in and the development of a new car park and walk at Craigie wood are well under way. When complete this walk will enable visitors to enter the existing park via the gates at the top left hand corner of the deer park wall or at the new cascade bridge.
Scots Mile Bridge |
Due to the on-going restoration & refurbishment works on the of the main avenue bridge (The Scots Mile Bridge), the bridge has been closed in the interests of public safety. This work may take a number of weeks to complete; we apologise for any inconvenience, and thank visitors for their patience whilst these works take place. Visitors to the park are asked to follow the diversion signs to the small bridge (Burn of Kelly bridge), by the deer wall.
Burn of Kelly Bridge |
Follow the path from the burn of kelly bridge to the Golden Gates, where you can continue your walk around the park.
The CHAP team are working on the restoration, refurbishment and creation of a number of components throughout the park. These include the restoration of historic footpath routes, improvements to existing drives & footpaths, the creation of new footpaths, the creation of a new adventure play area in the old gravel pit, the restoration & refurbishment of the Waterloo obelisk, Kemble’s seat, urn monument, deer statues and the golden gates.
In addition to this, please be aware that there are a number of other activities around the park, including the felling of some trees. We ask for your patience whilst these activities take place and hope that you will enjoy seeing the changes around Haddo during 2013.
